Andrea Vinje

Andrea was born and raised in Sheboygan, WI. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran school through 8th grade, followed by Sheboygan Falls High School. She graduated from UW Madison with a degree in Cross-categorical Special Education, K-12. She has worked her entire career thus far in AASD, starting with a traveling position between Appleton North and Appleton West High Schools, teaching students of varying abilities.  

Andrea earned her Master’s in Educational Leadership from Marian University in 2007.  She was the Associate Principal at Einstein Middle school for five years before taking on her Principal role at McKinley Elementary in 2013. She is proud to be a McKinley Jaguar!

Dean RyanDean of Students

Donald Ryan

Don Ryan is the Dean of Students at McKinley Elementary School. Prior to taking the Dean of Students position at McKinley, he taught for 6 years at Appleton’s Ferber Elementary school as a lead teacher in the Special Education self-contained emotional behavioral program. He also served the Appleton School District as a summer school coordinator at Edison Elementary School.

Don’s has 15 years of experience working with children and young adults with behavioral, emotional, and social challenges. He spent 4 years as a therapist for children with Autism, and another 11 years as a Special Education Teacher of students with Emotional Behavioral disabilities.

Don earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and a Master’s degree in Education Leadership from Viterbo University.
